U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer was in Norwich on Tuesday to meet with Chenango County USPS workers as lawmakers look to battle service cuts proposed by new Postmaster General Louis DeJoy. Schumer said if a bill isn’t passed to help the Postal Service many people will suffer including those depending on service for medicine delivery and business operations. DeJoy said Tuesday he will hold off on cuts until after the November election.
