U.S. Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer was in Norwich on Monday at UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital to discuss bipartisan legislation that would extend two Medicare payment programs.

According to the senator nearly 45 percent of residents served by UHS Chenango are covered by Medicare or Medicaid.
