The Route 20 Association of New York State is pleased to announce a new mini-grant program for municipalities. The program will recognize projects that not only help their communities but also enhance the Route 20 Scenic Byway as well.

Qualifying projects must be completed within the calendar year 2019. These may include projects that benefit residents and/or attract visitors through either physical improvements or improved services provided. Municipalities should have at least a portion of Route 20 running through them.

Municipalities may apply for the competitive mini-grant by submitting a one page narrative on their letterhead describing the work done and benefits derived. A contact person along with contact information should also be provided. Submissions must be received by April 1, 2019. The winner will be notified around June 1, 2019.

The special “One for the Road” award will be presented at the Association’s annual dinner meeting in November 2019. The amount of this year’s award will be $600.00. Included will be two reservations for the dinner to the municipality honored.

According to Association President Phil Durkin, “We’re pleased to make this grant available to our municipal partners within the Route 20 corridor. It’s only fitting to recognize those who do so much to make the Route 20 Scenic Byway not only a great place to visit but a great place to live.”

Applications may be sent to the Route 20 Association, PO Box 20, Richfield Springs, NY 13459 or emailed to kwazworks@gmail.com. Questions may be directed to email above or calling Bill Kwasniewski, Route 20 Association Administrator, at 315-271-8111.
