Record Setting Year for New York State Parks
2018 was a record setting year for state park visitors. The state’s parks, historic sites, campgrounds, and trails welcomed an estimated 74 million visitors in 2018 which is a four percent increase from 2017 and a 28 percent increase over the last eight years. The state reports there were more than 102,000 Empire Pass Card sales last year which was up more than 30 percent from 2017. The card allows access without being tied to a specific vehicle.
