Raccoon Tests Positive for Rabies
By
The Otsego County Department of Health is warning animal owners to be sure rabies vaccinations are up to date. A racoon was found in Mt. Vision last Thursday that tested positive for rabies and it had bitten a dog the night before. According to officials the dog was up to date on its vaccines and was given a booster shot. New York law requires all dogs, cats and ferrets to have rabies vaccinations.
