The Powerball jackpot for Saturday's drawing continues to soar hour-by-hour. After no winner on Wednesday's drawing, the jackpot rose to $475 million.

That has since escalated to $600 million and shows no sign of stopping ahead of Saturday's drawing. The all-time lottery record is $656 million for the Mega Millions in 2012.

The sudden rise is due, in part, to a game redesign and increasing the cost of a ticket to $2. Now, jackpots soar by the day.

There is a 1 in 175 million chance of any one person winning the Powerball jackpot.

The Powerball drawing is set for 11 p.m. Are you buying a ticket?
