SUNY Delhi professor Willis Brown appears to have murdered his wife, Wendy, then shot himself inside the couple's home in Franklin, according to Delaware County Sheriff Thomas Mills.

Further details won't be available until autopsies are complete.

The Delaware County Sheriff's Department is investigating the potential murder-suicide after they responded Wednesday to find the two unresponsive inside their Main Street home. Mills said it appeared both suffered fatal gunshot wounds.

Delaware County deputies are continuing their investigation, with assistance from the State Police Forensic Investigation Unit.

Willis Brown joined the college in 2005 as an engineer who taught electrical instrumentation and controls in the technology division. He was also a graduate of SUNY Oneonta. Wendy Brown was a financial adviser with the Morgan McReynolds group at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney in Oneonta.
