On Sunday night, Village of Sidney Police, along with help from New York State Police ended up on a chase of a vehicle whose driver refused to pull over for a traffic stop after getting on Interstate 88 at exit 9 in the Village of Sidney according to a press release.

The vehicle continued to flee from pursuing officers after exiting I-88 at the Bainbridge exit, then continued on State Highway 206. On that road, in the Town of Masonville, the vehicle intentionally struck a New York State Police vehicle, causing damage and continued onto Parker Hollow Road where it left the roadway.  When police stopped and exited their vehicles, again,  the vehicle sped off.

A short while later, that vehicle was located, overturned, after going off the road on Pine Hill Road.  It wasn't known why the vehicle crashed. Two people were in the vehicle and taken to different hospitals: the male driver to A.O Fox Hospital and a female passenger to Wilson Hospital, both with non-life threatening injuries.

No names have been released yet. The investigation continues and charges are pending.
