Earlier this year, Pathfinder Village, a planned community for people with Down syndrome and other developmental disabilities in Edmeston, NY, opened a fresh produce market on Thursday afternoons from 2pm to 5pm. Some of the produce is grown onsite and the  market is staffed by Pathfinder School pre-vocational students and adult supported employment workers. Produce is sold for about 30% less than those found at the supermarkets, which are many miles away, encouraging local families to come out and purchase healthy fruits and vegetables.

The market, which is located in the Pathfinder Village Commons Building, right next to the new Button Greenhouse, is affiliated with the Bassett Healthcare Network Research Institute’s 5 - 2 - 1 - 0 program to improve local families’ healthy living habits.

To help Pathfinder Village continue this great program, they need your help winning a $2500 grant.  All you have to do is take a minute to vote for them to win the grant on-line.  CLICK HERE TO VOTE.  It's really easy to vote and just takes a moment and make sure to share this with your friends on Facebook to get the word out.
