The Otsego County Public Health Department has announced an 8th county resident has died as a result of COVID-19 complications. Officials say all of the deaths have been individuals over the age of 60 which is in the high-risk group for COVID-19. Five additional cases were reported Tuesday bringing the total in the county (since March) to 986. Forty (40) cases are active and there are no hospitalizations. SUNY Oneonta's report from late yesterday states that there are currently 723 cases from the college and Hartwick College's current virus total is at 31.

Otsego County health officials say that there may be different numbers reported between county health officials and the colleges "due to deduplication process".
