Otsego County Holds Public Hearing on Hillside Commons Project

The Otsego County IDA held a public hearing Wednesday at the Foothills Performing Arts and Civic Center in Oneonta to continue discussions on the proposed tax abatement for the Newman Development Group, the developer of Hillside Commons.

More than 45 people attended to voice concerns over the proposed apartment complex on Blodgett Drive. Several of them were local landlords who voiced objections to tax breaks for this developer.

The Otsego County IDA plans to vote on the abatement plan next Thursday.
