After much consultation with its 700 members, the Otsego County Chamber of Commerce has written a letter to the Mayor Herzig addressing the concerns about the new building project for Dietz Street (Dietz Street Artists Lofts) and its effects on parking availability in that area.

While the Chamber says it looks forward to working with the city to examine these concerns, the letter points out two important concerns on behalf of local business owners.

The most important point stresses that the footprint of the building will take up 84 spaces and the vehicles using that building will take up another 93 spaces.  Because of this, according to the Otsego Chamber, the loss of spaces  and the addition of new parking needs makes for a problematic situation.

A parking survey was conducted and 45 Chamber members responded to the survey.  This was not a scientific survey and its results are for informational purposes only.
