Oneonta Welcomes Big, Beautiful New Mirabito Store on Southside!
The Mirabito family was out in force on Thursday to welcome in the 56th convenience store in their chain. The new Mirabito Convenience Plaza on Southside Oneonta is more than double the size of their former store that stood in the same place. The Grand Re-Opening ribbon cutting ceremony was attended by much of the local administrative personnel from the Town of Oneonta and Otsego County.
Joe Mirabito, CEO, told me "We are extremely proud and pleased to bring this beautiful new store to the Oneonta market. It will act as a role model for convenience stores throughout the region. We could not do this without the tremendous support of local government and of course our wonderful customers."
Town of Oneonta Supervisor Bob Wood said "we believe the grand re-opening of Mirabito convenience plaza is only the great beginning of so many wonderful things to happen on Southside. A Mavis Tire Supply outlet is coming in as well as a Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant. And there will be a series of small retail stores where the former Neptune Diner stood. It is a very exciting time and we are extremely pleased that the Mirabito family has shown so much confidence in the Town of Oneonta,"
Below are photos from the ceremony on Thursday as well as the new store.
The first photo was kind of a reunion for me. Growing up in Sidney, my family's back yard was right next to the Mirabito family back yard. So I grew up with them all. It was nice to see them again!
