Following a six month narcotics investigation by the Otsego County Sheriff's Office and Oneonta police, a no knock search at an Oneonta residence Feb. 15 uncovered a heroin operation manned by Marlee Ann Rickard, 35, and Christopher Root.

During the search investigators found Root hiding in the attic. He was arrested and sent to the Otsego County correctional facility without bail due to previous felony charges. Police say Rickard fled to Pittsfield, Mass., but returned to Oneonta on Saturday.

Oneonta police responded to Rickard's location to find her hiding in the basement. She is facing charges of felony conspiracy and criminal nuisance.

If convicted Rickard faces up to 4 years in prison.
