Jennifer Lawrence Wins Best Actress at the 2013 Oscars
Jennifer Lawrence won Best Actress at the 2013 Oscars for her portrayal of a widow with emotional problems in 'Silver Linings Playbook.'
After being nominated for an Oscar two years ago for 'Winter's Bone,' Jennifer Lawrence won the Best Actress award at the 2013 Oscars and, in doing so, has cemented her place among the Hollywood A-list. Thought Lawrence was considered a frontrunner, it was by a very close margin. Fellow nominee Jessica Chastain won a Golden Globe for Best Actress for her role in 'Zero Dark Thirty' and many felt the race between the two actresses was neck and neck.
Now in addition to two mega-franchises ('X-Men' and 'The Hunger Games'), Lawrence also has an Oscar (and is still only 22 years old).
For 'Silver Linings Playbook,' Lawrence gained over 15 lbs. and died her hair black to play the unstable sex addict who helps Bradley Cooper's Pat get out of his funk.
