Oneonta Police Department arrested Lafayette Alexander, aged 57, of Hollis, NY on November 29, 2013 after he was accused of fraudulently applying for a business loan in the amount of $20,000 at NBT Bank.

The investigation revealed that he used another person's identity, fake driver's license and other fraudulent documents. He has been charged with forgery in the first degree, two counts of identity theft in the first degree, two counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument, falsifying business records in the first degree, attempted identity theft in the first degree, and attempted grand larceny in the third degree. All are felonies.

Lafayette Alexander was arraigned and held on $30,000 cash bail, $60,000 bond.
