A physical incident at a local Norwich restaurant has led New York State Police to ask for help in finding a suspect in the case.

Police are searching for a Norwich, New York man in connection with what is being described as a domestic related incident on April 14, around 10:00 am.  Police say Jose Gonzalez, age 53 and a resident of Norwich, is currently being sought.  His whereabouts are unknown.

According to a press release from the New York State Police, officers responded to a call from Fred's Inn, a popular Norwich area restaurant,  The call was concerning an altercation that involved several people.  After a brief investigation, police say that three men were involved in the altercation.

State Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating Jose Gonzalez, age 53 of Norwich, NY.  State Police are looking to speak with Gonzalez in connection with the domestic related incident that occurred in Chenango County.

On April 14, 2021 around 10 a.m., New York State Police at Norwich responded to a domestic related incident involving three people at Fred’s Inn in the town of Norwich.  After a brief investigation, officers found that two of the people involved in the altercation were injured and they were transported to Chenango Memorial Hospital by Fire Ambulance for treatment of their injuries.  The injuries were later reported to be not serious and both men were treated and have since been released.

There does not appear to be a threat to the general public at this time, as the New York State Police are calling this an isolated incident.
