NYSP Launching New Fireworks Detail

New York State Troopers are participating in a “Fireworks Enforcement Detail” because of an increase in illegal fireworks usage and complaints from residents across the state. Troopers are focusing on fireworks brought into the state from Pennsylvania where they are legal for use. The state is also offering local governments and police departments what are described as additional enforcement tools to help address illegal fireworks usage.
