NYSP in Oneonta Warn of New Email Scam

New York State Police at Oneonta are warning the public of email scams using scare tactics. One of those demands the person who receives the email to pay a Bitcoin ransom in order to keep alleged sexually explicit videos from being sent to all the contacts in the person’s email and social media contacts. According to a press release from the Troop C newsroom, these emails are illegitimate and money should never be sent. Do not open any links that you are not familiar with.
