NYSERDA has extended the deadline for first-round funding for large solar power installations.

One month has been added to the deadline for $36.4 million in funding as part of NY-Sun initiative. Proposals were due Nov. 8, but have been extended to Dec. 5 due to Hurricane Sandy.

Announced in August, the program provides up to $107 million from Governor Andrew Cuomo’s NY-Sun initiative through the end of 2013. A total of $36.4 million dollars is set aside for 2012; the rest will be awarded next year.
