NYS Lawmaker Pass Rent Relief Bill

State lawmakers pass a measure to take $100 million from federal Coronavirus Relief Fund funding to be used towards rental assistance. The Emergency Rent Relief Act of 2020 provides rent payment assistance for April, May, June and July if a household earls less than 80% of median area income and pays more than 30% in rent. The bill now goes to the governor’s desk for his signature.
