NY State Police Step Up Security Patrols During Ramadan
New York State Police are stepping up patrols at houses of worship statewide with the observance of Ramadan starting this coming weekend. Governor Andrew Cuomo says the extra enforcement is being done out of an abundance of caution following recent attacks on houses of worship both in the United States and abroad. He added they will take all necessary precautions to ensure the safety and security of New Yorkers and to defend the right to free religious expression.
