New York State’s Budget Office says the Empire State should finish the current fiscal year with nearly two billion dollars in the bank.

The report from the Budget Division is based on the half-year financial reports, which run through September.

The state received 61.6 billion dollars so far this year, slightly lower than the last estimate, but spent $61.5 billion, also lower than projected.

Governor Cuomo will propose next years’ budget in January. The fiscal year ends on March 31st.
