The Norwich Police Department concluded an investigation into the sale of heroin with the execution of a search warrant and arrest of four people.

Last night at about 10:45 p.m., members of the Norwich Police assisted by the Chenango County Sheriff's Office executed a no knock search warrant at a State Street residence in the city of Norwich.

A large quantity of packaged heroin was seized from the residence, and two men and two women were taken into custody without incident. The four will be arraigned in City Court today.

All were charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th degree, criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument criminally using drug paraphernalia.

Additional charges were made against each individual as follows:

  • 25-year-old Ashley Babcock of State Street, Criminal Nuisance 1st Degree a Class E felony
  • 35-year-old Eneth Davenport of State Street, Criminal Nuisance 1st Degree, a Class E felony
  • 28-year-old Randy Buck, Jr., of Sherburne, no additional charges
  • 24-year-old Michael Marshall, of Vestal, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance for Sale 3rd Degree, a felony
