Peanut Butter.
Just the mention of it brings back memories of opening my Sky King metal lunch box and finding the nice peanut butter on white bread sandwich my Mom had made for me for lunch. By the time I got to it, it was already several hours old and the peanut butter had a rich creamy texture to it. With a cold cup of Thermos bottle white milk, this was about as perfect as it got in the 1950s.
Today, like almost all foods, peanut butter gets its own "national food holiday." Actually, National Peanut Butter Day is January 24, but March 1 is National Peanut Butter Lovers Day. So lets celebrate!
