After closing and staying empty for many years, the store has today morphed into one of the most amazing antique stores in the state. And they kept the iconic turquoise facade of the old department store intact!! With thousands of square feet covering two floors of exhibit area, the Early Owego Antiques Center is a must for all the pickers in our readership. Make a day of it. Owego has about 30,000 residents, is just a few minutes west of Binghamton and has a bunch of nice places to eat, drink, shop, and enjoy in their downtown business district. There is a wonder of an antique store in the Southern Tier of New York. It is in Owego, NY in Tioga County. The store, with thousands of square feet and two floors, is located inside a former 1958 J.J. Newberry Department Store in downtown. There are 90 dealers and it is packed with nostalgia.
