‘Nationwide Wireless Emergency Alert Test’ Postponed
Just in case you missed it, The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), has put off the "Presidential Alert" test sent to American smartphones and wireless devices until October 3. Originally, that test had been scheduled for this Thursday afternoon.
According to FEMA, the reason for the postponement is "due to ongoing response efforts to Hurricane Florence". When you receive the WEA on your phone, it will read: "THIS IS A TEST of the National Wireless Emergency Alert System. No action is needed.”
The sending of the Wireless Emergency Alert will take place October 3 at 2:18 p.m. EDT. You should only receive this message once. For more information about this CLICK HERE.
