Nothing is more nostalgic than our memories of going to the movies way back when in our hometowns in Upstate New York.

Whether it was he first release of a Disney film, maybe some Saturday morning kiddie cartoons, are even a big Hollywood blockbuster release, we lines up , bought tickets, enjoyed the popcorn and soda, and settled in for some great entertainment.

Many of those old movie houses from our youth are still standing around Upstate New York.  You can usually tell the real old ones by the magnificent old neon marquees shining above the theatre entrance out front.

Here is a gallery of some of the best old theatres (and their spectacular movie marquees) that we found in Upstate New York.  As you can see, they are beautiful and historic.  In fact, two theatres on this list alone are 100 years old or older.

Of course we couldn't name all of the old movie houses in Upstate in this gallery, so we turn to you.  And we ask that you remember to keep an eye out for a dazzling old movie marquee at the entrance.  If you can fit that bill, we ask you to visit our Facebook pages and give your old favorite movie theatre a big shout out.

We really do want to hear from you!

Take a Look At These Beauties! Lights, Camera, Action! Dazzling Movie Marquees Across Upstate New York

Local movie theaters may be hard to find in recent years, but they have a beauty all their own. Check out a bunch of upstate theaters with some personality!

Before the big multi-plex movie houses came to be, it seems that almost every big city and small town had its own movie house. In this gallery we showcase so real old, and quite beautiful, movie houses in the Upstate New York region, some of them dating back more than a century!

And one thing you have to like, is the beauty which exudes from the movie house's old marquee. For many small towns and villages, the movie marquee was the most splendid, spectacular, dazzling thing about the whole town. This is a wonderful photo gallery of a bunch of great movie theatres and their magnificent marquee out front!

Of course, there are many others not listed here. So if your favorite movie house (and its dazzling movie marquee) did not make our list, we encourage you to visit our Facebook page and give it a shout out.

We really do want to hear from you!

Lobsters Rolls In the Spotlight! Several Great Lobster Restaurants in Upstate New York

The last week in September we get to celebrate National Lobster Week. It is without a doubt one of our favorite national food "holidays."
Personally, I have never been a whole lobster type of guy. Too much deconstruction for me. But a lobster roll really hits my sweet spot. Grill the roll, stuff it with fresh lobster pieces, lay on the mayonnaise, and stand back.

This gallery helps us celebrate this food week by listing a sampler of great seafood places in Upstate New York that serves my favorite...a lobster roll.

Enjoy!
