Oneonta Mayor Gary Herzig has issued a public statement in response to the public outcry over the possibility of closing one of Neahwa Park's two entrances.  That entrance will now remain open.

“Our City staff intent to create a safer, more pedestrian-friendly entrance to Neahwa Park is commendable”, states Mayor Herzig. “We clearly failed, however, in providing timely and adequate communication and discussion regarding this week’s closure. As Mayor, it is my responsibility to see that we do better in the future”.
