Lupardo Schedules Public Hearing on Binghamton Developmental Center Closure

Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo has scheduled a public hearing Friday to discuss the closure of the inpatient services at the Binghamton Health Center in 2014 and a complete closure of the Broome Developmental Center in 2016.

The meeting is at 11 a.m. in the Binghamton City Council chambers. The public is invited to attend.

Panels at the hearing will include southern tier elected officials, mental health commissioners, sheriffs, hospital representatives, labor leaders, community service agencies and various advocacy groups.

More forums are being planned over the next few months for additional public comment.
