Laurens Man Charged After Bringing Drugs Into Jail

A Laurens man who was at the Otsego County jail last Friday is facing felony charges after being caught with drugs. The Sheriff’s office reports 20-year-old Dakota Coffey had an e-cigarette device which was loaded with THC, the principal chemical in marijuana. Coffey is charged with Possession of Dangerous Contraband along with Introduction of Dangerous Contraband. He appeared in Town of Hartwick court then was released on his own recognizance pending a court appearance next month.
