Voting is the lifeblood of this country. The United States was founded on the principle that every citizen has their voice heard, and the polls are where that happens.
Presidential elections obviously draw the largest turnout, but local and midterm elections are just as vital, and there's one thing you can always count on at them: stickers.
Albany "I Voted" Sticker Contest
Every year, Albany County holds a contest for the public to design a new "I Voted" sticker. These are given to you every time you vote, and the designs always show the heart of the city.

The contest involves students K-12 designing an original, nonpartisan sticker that captures the spirit of Albany and democracy. Each student is allowed one entry, and they can be designed with crayon, marker, pencil, ink, or digital drawing tools.
These designs are then voted on and the winning submission will see their design at the ballots come election season.

2026 Winner
On the night of October 13th, the Albany County Legislature declared their winner. The winning design was created by 12 year old Jacob Gleason-Sweeney, a local middle school student in the City School District of Albany.
His design features the Albany skyline with a large blue butterfly overhead and the phrase "I Voted" over red and white stripes on the bottom.
This was the fourth annual running of this contest, and has become a great success in the Capital Region. You can see Jacob's sticker, and grab one for yourself, on election day, Tuesday, November 3rd.
