Chenango County voters have today and Saturday from 9 until noon to apply for an absentee ballot to vote in the November 5th General Election. You may apply in person both days at the Board of Elections located in the Chenango County building in Norwich.
New York State Bar Association president Seymour James, Jr. has formed a special committee to recommend possible changes in state law that could foster greater voter participation.
Now that the Chenango County Republican Primary is behind us, there are just two candidates running for County Judge: Norwich attorney Frank Revoir, a Republican, and attorney Diane DiStefano, a Democrat.
Frank Revoir won the Chenango County Judge Republican primary, capturing 53% of the vote over challenger Joseph McBride. The 375 returned absentee ballots will be counted over the next week. All results are unofficial, but reported by the Chenango County Board of Elections.
Thursday is primary election day in New York State. In Otsego County voters can vote on the Republican Party’s state senator candidate of the 51st district, between incumbent James Seward and challenger James Blake.
