Have You Heard of Choice Films and Stages?

If you live in the Hudson Valley, there's a good chance that you know it is becoming one of the hottest spots in the U.S. for films and television productions to film.

It seems like every week there's a new set popping up in one of our local communities. But did you know that there is a massive soundstage right in our own backyard?

Many of those movies and television shows that are filming in our neighborhoods are part of Choice Films.

According to their website, Choice Films is a "multi-award-winning full-service production company that has been producing film, television, regional and Off-Broadway theatre, multi-media/web projects and live events." 

They've been in service since 2001 and have offices in New York City, New Jersey and, most recently, Orange County New York.

A Look Inside Choice Films in Montgomery, New York

I recently was invited out to take a look around a Choice Films located in Montgomery, New York.

The Choice Films team, made up of Summer Crockett Moore and Tony Glazer, showed me around the 4 large sound stages. 3 of the 4 soundstages are 10,000 square feet with 35 foot ceilings.

Sound Stage 1 is 20,000 square feet with 35 foot ceilings. Additionally, there are 2 shops onsite where crews can build pieces of sets that you see in film and television.

The stages also have large catering areas, crew bathrooms, talent dressing rooms and private bathrooms.

Have You Seen Choice Films on Your Screen?

The Choice Films catalogue is impressive to say the least.

Films like The Whale, starring Brendan Fraser, and Smile 2 used Choice Films for their Stage Management features.

Television shows like Pretty Little Liars, The Four Seasons, Poker Face and The White House Plumbers also used Choice Films.
