The store where a Conklin teenager purchased a gun used to kill shoppers at a Buffalo supermarket reportedly is being sued by the loved ones of some of those who died in the attack.

According to ABC News, Vintage Firearms of Endicott is among those named in a wrongful death lawsuit filed in connection with the May 2022 mass shooting.

The lawsuit was filed in state Supreme Court in Buffalo just before the first anniversary of the deadly racist attack by Payton Gendron at the Tops grocery store on the city's East Side.

Gendron was 18 at the time of the mass shooting. He drove nearly 200 miles from his home in Broome County to attack Black people at the supermarket.

ABC News reported social media firms and a body armor company also were named in the lawsuit.

Vintage Firearms, the gun shop on South Nanticoke Avenue in Endicott's Union District, reportedly is a defendant because it sold Gendron the Bushmaster XM15-E2S he used in the Tops shooting.

Vintage Firearms owner Robert Donald told WNBF News on Monday afternoon that he had seen news reports about the lawsuit but he had not yet been served official notice. He said he had nothing to say about the suit until he's been served.

The gunman's parents - Paul and Pamela Gendron - also are named in the lawsuit. They could not be reached for comment.
