Heads Up High! U.S. Navy Aerobatic Team Returns To The Binghamton New York Air Show
Thursday, November 30th, the Greater Binghamton Airport had a visitor - the United States Navy Blue Angels.
The Blue Angels were at BGM to announce they will be the main attraction at the Greater Binghamton Air Show next summer, Saturday and Sunday, July 6th and July 7th, 2024.
According to the Binghamton Home Page website, two members of the Blue Angels landed at the Greater Binghamton Airport in Maine in an F-18 Super Hornet, just before the press conference began.
The last airshow occurred at BGM in 2021. Airshows have been featured at the airport for many summers over the past four decades, drawing thousands of people throughout the northeast U.S. to the event.
When the Greater Binghamton Air Show was initially announced on August 18th, Broome County Executive Jason Garnar noted:

In a live WNBF Radio interview with Bob Joseph on August 10th, 2023, Broome County Executive Jason Garnar said "We would like to do an air show every two years." According to the Broome County Executive Garner's Office press release, it was noted that the Greater Binghamton Air Show has hosted a variety of performers, including the United States Air Force Thunderbirds, the Geico Skytypers, the United State Army Golden Knights, and of course, the Blue Angels, along with several other performers.
The United States Navy Blue Angels have been flying the skies since 1946, and have entertained over 500 million aviation fans with precision aerobatic maneuvers, traveling to air shows around the globe.
According to the August 10th, 2023 article, the last time the United States Navy Blue Angels performed at the Greater Binghamton Air show was in 2009.
