February 27, 2023, it was announced that the Greater Binghamton Airport would be awarded $7 million in federal funding for terminal upgrades, through the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act Airport Terminal Program.

At that time, Representative Marc Molinaro noted that the improvements included reconstructing the passenger hold room, replacing HVAC equipment with reliable and energy-efficient units, installing two new passenger boarding bridges, and expanding its exterior canopy.

Today (May 6, 2024), Congressman Molinaro announced the Greater Binghamton Airport will receive an additional $3 million in federal funding for airport terminal upgrades, from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act Airport Terminal Program.

The additional funds will go to expanding the Greater Binghamton Airport's passenger hold room, along with the other projects that will soon begin or are already underway.

Jason Garner, the Broome County Executive noted that “The award of these funds shows our strong partnership with our state and federal officials. It puts on full display the importance and impact of this project in our community.”

Mark Heefner, Commissioner of Aviation at the Greater Binghamton Airport added “We are thrilled to receive these competitive funds. BGM and Broome County has a proven track record of putting these funds to good use with high return on investment. These funds are critical to providing our community with services for years to come.”
