Take a second and really picture it. The countdown is coming. Midnight is almost here. And this isn’t just any New Year’s Eve. According to a new survey, this is the last one. Where would you want to be when the clock hits zero?

That’s the question Choice Mutual asked more than 3,000 people nationwide, and when you look at New Yorkers specifically, the answers feel very, well, New York.

New Yorkers Chose Iconic Over Quiet

When New York residents were asked how they’d want to spend their final New Year’s Eve, they didn’t go small. They went legendary. The top picks weren’t about staying home or finding a hidden gem. They were about moments you feel in your bones, and two places stood out clearly above the rest.

Why Times Square Feels Like the Ultimate Send-Off

No surprise here. Times Square was the number one choice for New Yorkers. If this were your last New Year’s Eve, there’s something powerful about being right there in the middle of it all. Shoulder to shoulder with strangers. Confetti raining down. That famous ball dropping as the world watches. It’s loud, chaotic, electric, and unmistakably New York.

A Powerful Goodbye Surrounded by Nature

Right behind Times Square was Niagara Falls, and the feeling there could not be more different. Instead of skyscrapers and spotlights, imagine standing near the falls as fireworks explode overhead. You feel the mist on your face. The water is roaring below you. Music, lights, and nature all collide at once. It’s dramatic in a totally different way, and honestly, it sounds breathtaking. For many New Yorkers, that mix of natural beauty and celebration felt like the perfect final midnight.

Moments That Match New York Energy

Looking at these choices, one thing is clear. New Yorkers want their moments to mean something. Whether it’s the global energy of Times Square or the raw power of Niagara Falls, both places deliver something unforgettable.  They’re not quite goodbyes. They’re bold ones. Like us.

Unforgettable Is the Only Option

People across the country picked everything from Disneyland to the Northern Lights, but New York’s top choices stayed close to home and close to the heart. Iconic. Emotional. Larger than life.

If this were your last New Year’s Eve, New Yorkers seem to agree on one thing: wherever you are, it should feel unforgettable.
