NY Gas Station Offers 20% Off If You Dance — And People Went For It

Who knew all it would take to get people smiling was a little dancing and a discount?

A Sunoco gas station in Halfmoon, New York, recently came up with a pretty simple promotion: Dance for your discount and get 20% off.

And people did NOT hold back.

Video Goes Viral

A video showing customers taking part in the promotion has gone viral, with more than 7 million views. And honestly, it's one of those videos you can’t watch without smiling.

People pulled up and suddenly found themselves putting on a little show. Some had serious moves. Others… well, let's just say they were brave enough to dance in public to save a few bucks.

There were spins, shuffles, jumping, and plenty of moves. Everyone seemed to be having a great time.

And that's what makes this so much fun. Nobody had to be a great dancer. Nobody had to look cool. You just had to be willing to have a little fun for a few seconds.

Sometimes We Just Need a Reason to Smile

Let's be honest, there's plenty of serious stuff going on in the world. Sometimes something this simple is exactly what people need.

You pull into a gas station, and you're handed a reason to laugh, dance, and maybe make someone else smile too. The discount was just a bonus.

I wish more businesses would do things like this. It doesn't always have to be about winning something big or getting a huge discount. Sometimes it's just about creating a fun moment that people remember.

And if you can save 20% while embarrassing yourself with your best dance moves?

That's a pretty good deal.
