The red tailed hawk that was injured last week along I-88 has recovered and has been released.  Here is the notice posted on the Otsego County Sheriff's Facebook page

"A Red Tailed Hawk which was found injured on I-88 on February 16 has been deemed healthy enough to return to his natural habitat.  Wildlife rehabilitators Charlie and Dorie Koop have been tending to the animal and transported the hawk to Riddell State Park in the Town of Milford to be released in his surroundings.  Maureen Richter who stopped to save the animal was in attendance with her husband Gary. Also present at the release were Deputy Sheriff Koren, Sergeant Stalter and DEC Officer Fetterman."
