The first meeting of one of the three committees in Otsego County required to approve a police reform plan as outlined and ordered by Governor Cuomo took place last night.

According to AllOtsego.com, the Cooperstown Village Board met via Zoom to discuss the Police Reform and Reinvention Collaborative Plan certification. The three entities in the county, the City of Oneonta and Otsego County government and the Village of Cooperstown all have their own police departments, and are required to submit reports on the plan by April 1. The Mayor of Cooperstown has expressed that the village was determined to develop the plan and have it reviewed by the public well in advance of the deadline, to ensure there were no last-minute misunderstandings.
