HEAP Applications Can Be Filed Starting Nov. 19

The State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance announced Thursday that the New York Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) will begin accepting applications for regular benefits Nov. 19.

HEAP provides assistance to help low income and elderly New Yorkers keep their homes warm in winter months. Applicants are encouraged to apply early, as HEAP benefits are awarded on a first come, first served basis.

Applications will be accepted at least through March. To see if you are eligible, answer a few questions on line at mybenefits.Ny.Gov
