The Habitat for Humanity Otsego organization is planning on a very busy summer.  Right now they are looking for families interested in partnering with Habitat for Humanity
The application for interested potential partner families opens on July 15, 2021 and the deadline is August 16, 2021.

If you or someone you know, who lives in Otsego County and are interested in living in a Habitat for Humanity home in the future, now is the time to apply. The applications and additional information can be obtained on the Habitat for Humanity Otsego County website or by calling the office at 607-432-7874, or via a written request to HFHOC, 403B Chestnut St., Oneonta NY 13820. Application criteria include a need for housing, willingness to partner, and income/credit guidelines.

The Habitat for Humanity Otsego group has been actively building homes in our area for many years.  Townsquare Media has reported on the successful completion of these homes as they happen, and it is always such a wonderful feeling to see a family entering a brand new home, maybe even for the very first time for them.  There are guidelines and rules which much be followed during the application process, but organizers are extremely patient and willing to help the applicants maneuver their way through the process.

An Information Session/Open House for those considering applying will be held on August 5, 2021 at 7 P.M. at the recently completed Habitat home on McFarland Road.  To get to these new homes from Oneonta, take the Route 205 Exit from I-88 and go north on Rt. 205. The home site is just shy of one mile north of the red light at the corner of Rt. 23 and Rt. 205.  You will see the new houses on your left.
