Gov. Cuomo Will Not Be Sending National Guard to Border
Governor Andrew Cuomo announced on Monday that he is not sending National Guard troops to the southern border. In a statement Cuomo said he would not allow New York to become party to what the governor called inhumane treatment of immigrant families. President Donald Trump has asked all governors to send troops to the US-Mexico border to assist federal agents with keeping out those trying to enter the country illegally. Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker is also refusing to send National Guard troops.
