Gov. Cuomo Signs LGBTQ Protection Legislation

New York’s Gender Expression Non-Discrimination Act is now law. Among its provisions is a ban on the practice of conversion therapy and prohibitions of discrimination on the basis of gender identity or expression. Any offenses committed on the basis of gender identity or expression are now hate crimes under the new law. It expands on the state’s Human Rights Law passed four years ago.
