April is National Cancer Control Awareness Month: a time devoted to raising awareness of cancer prevention, detection, and treatment methods, as well giving support to cancer patients and survivors.

The Cancer Services Program of Delaware, Otsego and Schoharie Counties provides free cancer screenings to uninsured and under-insured women ages 40-64 and men ages 50-64. Screenings include mammograms, breast exams, and pap tests with pelvic exams. Also provided are take-home colorectal cancer screening kits for men and women ages 50-64. If screening tests find something abnormal, testing services are available through the Cancer Services Program for eligible men and women at no cost.

Services are provided in local clinics and hospitals in each county. Please call 1-888-345-0225 for more information or to schedule a free screening.
