(Original story)

Do you get excited when you see new building construction happening in the city or town of Oneonta? I certainly do and always want to know what's being built. It was not long ago that I noticed that a building project was happening behind Wendy's on the Southside of Oneonta. I'm sure the rumors as to what was going in there were flying around like birds around a bird feeder but it's time to turn from rumors to fact.

The FACT is a Starbucks is going in there! Fans of the popular coffee brand are thrilled since the only Starbucks in Oneonta is located in the Hunt Union on the SUNY Oneonta campus. That's great for students and faculty there but not for the community.

The construction project of the Starbucks shop was approved by the Otsego County Board of Representatives on April 5, 2021, at their regular meeting and it wasn't long before construction began on the site behind Wendy's. The best part for you night owls is that it will be open 24 hours a day.
