A fire on Father’s Day damaged part of a Norwich home. Crews responding to the Brown St. residence found the back of the home was ablaze and fought the fire from outside and from the kitchen inside. Officials say it took around 15 minutes to get the fire under control and about another 15 minutes to extinguish it. Crews remained on the scene to put out hot spots. According to the Evening Sun, the fire is blamed on carelessly discarded lit cigarettes.
