Farmers Almanac Spring Weather Forecast Isn’t Exactly What New Yorkers Want

If you, like most people, have been looking forward to warmer temperatures and loads of sunshine, you might want to brace yourself. Oh, and keep your rain boots and umbrella handy.

While knowing what the exact forecast will be with 100 percent accuracy is impossible, the team at Farmers’ Almanac has been predicting the forecast for generations and if their prediction is correct for spring 2023, it is going to be a cool and soggy one in New York.

Farmers’ Almanac says that spring will take some time to arrive and while we’re waiting for a sunny sky, we should prepare for wet conditions and chilly temperatures. Farmers’ Almanac predicted unseasonably warm days for this week and although it hasn’t been brutally cold, we haven’t reached the 50 and 60-degree temperatures they forecasted so they missed the mark a bit on that one.

For the last week of February, Farmers’ Almanac says we should expect cooler temperatures but less precipitation. As we walk into March and closer to spring, Farmers’ Almanac thinks that the first few days will be rainy and windy followed by warmer temperatures and less precipitation. Then, they say rain and wet snow should be expected from March 8^th through the 15^th. The days before the first day of spring (March 20) will, according to Farmers’ Almanac be cold and windy.
