Democrat Gary Herzig Throws Hat Into Oneonta Mayor’s Race

Gary Herzig, Democrat, has declared his candidacy for the position of mayor in the City of Oneonta.  He has been associated with many Oneonta community activities for more than three decades.  Russ Southard has been the city's acting mayor since Dick Miller passed away last year.  This will be Herzig's first run for elective office.   Herzig is vice chairman of the Oneonta Planning Commission and chairman of the city’s Board of Assessment and Review. He is a former director of the Oneonta Job Corps.
